US forces down Iranian drones near Strait of Hormuz

US forces intercepted and shot down two Iranian attack drones after they were allegedly launched toward commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz, according to a senior US defence official.

“It appears Iran has attempted to strike commercial ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz tonight. U.S. forces shot down two Iranian one-way attack drones,” the official told Fox News Chief National Security Correspondent Jennifer Griffin, Caliber.Az reports.

Iran fired several drones tonight at commercial vessels attempting to transit Strait of Hormuz.

The official noted that traffic flow through the Strait continues.

No damage to vessels or casualties were immediately reported.
