US gives green light for Netanyahu’s visit to Gaza coordination headquarters
The United States has granted permission for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to visit the American command post located in Kiryat Gat, Israeli television channel Kan-11 reported.
Netanyahu is expected to be accompanied by the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) high command and the defence minister during the visit, where they will hold discussions with American officials on the situation in Gaza.
The coordination of the visit coincides with the expiration of US President Donald Trump’s 48-hour ultimatum to Hamas, demanding the return of the remains of kidnapped Israelis. It also comes amid ongoing consultations between Washington and Tel Aviv regarding possible measures to address the situation with Hamas.
Earlier, on October 21, during a visit by US Vice President J.D. Vance, the joint Israel–US Coordination Headquarters established to implement Trump’s Gaza agreements was unveiled to reporters. The headquarters, located in a large industrial facility currently undergoing renovation, already accommodates hundreds of soldiers from various countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and others.
According to reports, the building contains a section reserved exclusively for American military personnel. Israeli officers are permitted to enter this area only with a special invitation.
