US halts ammunition shipments to Estonia amid Iran tensions, minister says
21 April 2026 12:57
Estonia’s defence minister Hanno Pevkur has said the United States has temporarily suspended ammunition deliveries to the Baltic nation, citing developments related to Iran.
Speaking to ERR, Pevkur said the decision was communicated following a phone call with US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.
According to Pevkur, Washington has paused the shipments at least until the current conflict involving Iran is resolved.
Pevkur warned that a prolonged interruption could have broader implications for Estonia’s defence posture. If the pause continues, he said, the government may be forced to revisit previously approved defence decisions and procurement plans.
