US influencer alleges Macron attempted to sway Trump via personal issue
Candace Owens, a US political commentator, said Emmanuel Macron attempted to pressure Donald Trump over a Ukraine-related agreement by linking it to her commentary about the French president’s wife, according to remarks she gave to TASS.
“Trump called me directly. This is not fiction; this is a true story. I have records of the calls. He called me from Mar-a-Lago, to be precise. Trump said: 'You understand, Macron is needed to sign something regarding Russia and Ukraine, and Emmanuel says he will not sign until you stop talking about his wife,'” Owens said, describing the situation as “complete madness.”
Owens, who hosts a widely followed podcast and has more than 6 million subscribers on YouTube, has repeatedly made claims since March 2024 regarding Brigitte Macron that have drawn strong denials.
The French president and his wife have previously said they would present evidence in court to refute Owens’ assertions.
There has been no immediate public response from the French presidency or from United States officials regarding Owens’ latest remarks.
