US-Iran truce signals American defeat, says journalist Tucker Carlson

American journalist Tucker Carlson questioned whether the truce announced between the United States and Iran represents a victory for Washington in his latest YouTube video.

According to Carlson, the United States has, in fact, suffered a defeat in the armed conflict. He noted that President Donald Trump failed to achieve regime change in the Islamic Republic.

“The president excitedly announces a ceasefire. A pause in the fighting in a war that cannot result in American victory, but only in further American defeat and degradation and ultimately in bankruptcy and possibly a nuclear war,” he said.

Carlson also highlighted that US military bases in the Middle East have sustained significant damage. Nevertheless, he emphasised that the military operation in Iran costs Washington hundreds of billions of dollars, while Tehran continues to maintain control over the Strait of Hormuz.
