US launches deadly strike on Caribbean narco vessel

The U.S. military said Joint Task Force Southern Spear carried out a “lethal kinetic strike” against a vessel linked to designated terrorist organisations in the Caribbean on May 4.

According to a statement, the operation was conducted under the direction of U.S. Southern Command chief Gen. Francis L. Donovan after intelligence assessments determined that the vessel was moving along known drug-trafficking routes and was actively involved in narcotics operations.

The military said two male “narco-terrorists” were killed in the strike. No U.S. personnel were injured during the operation.
