US launches evacuation buses from Israel to Jordan
The U.S. Department of State, in coordination with the U.S. Embassy Jerusalem, has begun organising bus transportation for U.S. citizens wishing to leave Israel amid the ongoing crisis in the region.
Starting on March 23, buses will depart for Amman, Jordan, providing a safe and assisted departure route through the northern border crossing at the Jordan River/Sheikh Hussein.
The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem announced the initiative through a post on X, urging American citizens in Israel who need assistance to apply via an online form for inclusion in the transportation plan. [Link to form: https://bit.ly/4lFEPSc]
The buses are set to depart from both the Jerusalem and Tel Aviv areas, with specific rally points and times to be confirmed once the bus schedules are finalised.
The embassy has stressed that while the bus service will take U.S. citizens to the Amman International Airport in Jordan, travellers are responsible for booking onward flights from Amman to their final destinations.
