US lifts sanctions on Caspian Pipeline Consortium, Tengizchevroil
The US has lifted sanctions on transactions related to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) and Tengizchevroil, a company registered in Kazakhstan.
In an official statement, the US government confirmed that all transactions previously prohibited under the January 10, 2025 ruling, specifically involving the CPC and Tengizchevroil projects, are now authorised, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
The move comes amid heightened tensions following a March 24 attack on the Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station of the CPC in Russia’s Krasnodar region. The attack, carried out by a Ukrainian drone, has been condemned by the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, which said the strike is negatively affecting the financial performance of the CPC and its shareholders, including Kazakhstan and several US companies.
The consortium further emphasised that Kyiv’s actions undermine the foundations of global energy security and create significant risks to personnel.
