US NATO envoy: Europe can’t produce weapons Ukraine needs, only America can

US Permanent Representative to NATO Matthew Whitaker has stated that Europe is currently unable to produce the weapons Ukraine needs for its defence.

He made the remarks in an interview with Fox News.

“Right now, Europe cannot produce the weapons Ukraine needs on the battlefield or in the event of a potential war in Europe. That’s why the United States is the leading producer of such weapons systems and will be supplying them to Europe,” Whitaker said.

The envoy added that U.S. President Donald Trump did not demand that NATO allies shoulder the costs of military aid to Ukraine, as the initiative for such support came from Europe itself.
