This initiative involves, in particular, counteracting the "harmful rhetoric" that is spreading through social networks and the media, the Russian news service RT informs, citing the grant’s description.
“The United States Department of State, the US Embassy in Kyiv is announcing an open call for organizations interested in applying for projects that support the fight against disinformation and harmful rhetoric spread on social networks and traditional media in Ukraine,” the grant description reads.
As follows from the terms of the grant, the program is meant to be aimed at empowering civil activists involved in the fight against disinformation in the country. Applicants must develop information products and provide them to the press.
Future contractors should also analyse information from open sources and disseminate the results of research among the population of Ukraine.
