US president praises Israel-Iran truce as huge victory
US President Donald Trump has praised the ceasefire between Israel and Iran, describing it as a significant achievement for all parties involved.
Speaking during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in The Hague, Trump expressed optimism about the current situation, Caliber.Az reports, citing the NATO summit livestream.
Trump recounted that Israel had briefly deployed aircraft after detecting a potential ceasefire violation but quickly withdrew them following his intervention.
The US president said that Israel was technically right about the ceasefire violation, but that it simply wouldn’t have worked.
He added that he told them to bring the planes back, which they did, and described the situation as great, saying everything was going very well. The US leader emphasised that the ceasefire marked a substantial victory for everyone, including Iran.
Trump added that they had achieved a huge victory and delivered a massive blow. He expressed doubt that the enemy was present during the strike because they knew it was coming. The US leader believed it was a significant win for everyone involved, including Iran, noting that Iran still has its country, oil, and very smart people.
