US president to announce withdrawal from presidential race in July 24 speech

White House reporter at the Washington Post Tyler Pager has announced that US President Joe Biden is set to deliver a speech on July 24 to formally announce his decision to withdraw from the presidential race.

Biden's exit speech is planned for that date, Caliber.Az reports citing the foreign media.

With the US presidential election scheduled for November 5, Biden was initially expected to represent the Democratic Party. However, following a lackluster performance in a June debate against Republican Donald Trump, there were growing calls from within the Democratic Party for Biden to step down. On July 21, Biden confirmed his withdrawal and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as his successor.
