US puts iPhone on list of dangerous devices
Cybersecurity Agency at the US Department of Homeland Security has warned of the dangers of using smartphones iPhone and other Apple gadgets without updating to the latest version of the OS.
According to the US agency, the devices are included to the list of dangerous, because without downloading and installing updates the gadgets can be hacked by hackers. The threat has been officially confirmed by the American company Apple, Fox News reports.
The Ministry specified that the company from Cupertino has released important updates to its browsers Safari, smartphones iPhone, tablets iPad and computers Mac, eliminating the critical vulnerabilities in the security system.
These are iOS 16.3.1, iPadOS 16.3.1 and macOS Ventura 13.2.1. Apple is also rolling out Safari 16.3.1 for older computer operating systems, including macOS Big Sur and macOS Monterey.
US authorities warned that without the update, attackers could exploit the vulnerability, which would allow surveillance of unprotected user data, among other things.
According to Fox News, the threat is serious enough that the Department of Homeland Security does not issue a warning about every update for Apple gadgets.
