US reaffirms commitment to Azerbaijan-Armenia peace efforts
The US Department of State has reiterated its commitment to advancing peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia despite the challenges encountered in the process.
Vedant Patel, Deputy Spokesperson for the State Department, addressed the issue during a recent briefing, responding to questions about the progress and difficulties in resolving tensions between the two countries, Caliber.Az reports.
When asked about the US investment in the peace efforts and whether frustrations have arisen due to the lack of substantial outcomes, Patel emphasized the administration's dedication.
"We try not to focus on frustrations and just continuing to do the work. Secretary Blinken has long said, in a lot of areas, that it’s the so many days of just hard work until the – something comes to fruition. I probably really butchered that quote, so you’ll forgive me. But this continues to be an area of vital importance to this administration and to the Secretary, and we’ll continue to work at it till our last day in office," Patel said.
