US recalls more than 200,000 pairs of kids’ sandals over potential health risk
19 July 2026 17:19
More than 200,000 pairs of children’s sandals have been recalled in the United States due to a potential choking hazard, according to CBS News, citing the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
The recall affects the Raffia model sold under the Cat & Jack brand, which was available at Target stores from January through May 2026 for around $20.
The safety concern involves decorative plastic pearls attached to the braided straps, which can detach and potentially enter a child’s airway.
The manufacturer has received 23 customer complaints, although no confirmed choking incidents have been reported.
Parents have been advised to immediately stop using the sandals and return them to stores for a full refund.
