US rushes sale of aerial bombs to Israel
The United States Department of State has approved the sale of military equipment and combat support services to Israel worth $151.8 million.
According to a statement published on the State Department’s website, the package includes 12,000 BLU-110A/B aerial bombs, each weighing 1,000 pounds (approximately 450 kg). The deal also covers additional support and technical services.
The United States authorised the transaction under emergency procedures, allowing it to bypass the standard United States Congress review process due to the escalating situation in the region.
The statement also notes that the decision comes amid the intensifying confrontation between Israel and Iran. Washington stressed that it continues to support Israel’s defence capabilities.
