US said to be ready to attack China in case of Taiwan "aggression"
The US is ready to attack China's logistics channels if "aggressive" actions are launched against Taiwan.
This was announced on September 6 by US General Clinton Hinot at a conference of the Atlantic Council (The Atlantic Council), reports RIA News, according to gamingdeputy.com.
The United States will attack China's logistics channels to complicate "aggressive manoeuvres" against Taiwan, the general said. He also hoped that China, as a "potential adversary" would still "reflect" on this statement.
In conclusion, assessing what is happening in Ukraine, the general said that the United States understands how important the logistical component is in any conflict. "In a military conflict of this intensity, it is difficult to provide logistical support," Hinot said. He added that the United States now has all the means to stop China's logistics. The US military will do everything to stop it, he concluded.
On September 5, the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, advised Taiwan to pay attention to Ukraine during the Russian military special operation and learn from its tactics of action. "If your opponent is trying to invade, and every man and every woman of military age is given a weapon and a little bit of training, then this can be used very effectively," he said.
Earlier, the former NATO representative in Moscow, retired US captain Harry Tabakh, suggested that the American HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), which are now being supplied to the military of Ukraine, will soon be useful to the United States and Taiwan in the conflict with China. Russian political scientist Vasily Kashin, a specialist in Asia and China, also said that this conflict should be "much more dangerous than the one we are seeing now in Ukraine".
A new escalation of the conflict in the Taiwan Strait occurred against the backdrop of a trip to the island by US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Beijing considered the visit of the American politician to the island as ignoring the principle of one China. Later, Taipei, contrary to the statements of the PRC, was visited by three more American delegations.
