US, Saudi Arabia strike militant targets in Iraq, CENTCOM says

The United States and Saudi Arabia have carried out airstrikes against terrorist group targets in Iraq, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a post on X.

According to CENTCOM, the militants operate under the direction of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and have been targeting US forces as well as Saudi energy infrastructure.

“U.S. and Saudi fighter aircraft struck multiple terrorist logistics and weapons sites across eastern Iraq in a strong response to over 30 IRGC-directed aerial drone attacks in the last 72 hours,” the post read.

The command also stated that between February and April this year, Iran-linked groups carried out more than 600 attempted attacks against US personnel and facilities in Iraq.
