US, Saudi officials discuss regional security amid war with Iran

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a phone call with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, the US Department of State said.

During the conversation, Secretary Rubio thanked the Saudi Foreign Minister for Riyadh’s swift response to the recent attack on the US Embassy in the capital. The two officials also discussed "ongoing threats posed by Iran’s regime to regional stability," the department said.

The sides also discussed broader developments across the Middle East.
