US Secretary of State to visit South Korea, Japan, France for key diplomatic talks
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will embark on a diplomatic trip to the Republic of Korea (ROK), Japan, and France from January 4-9, 2025.
In the Republic of Korea, Secretary Blinken will engage with senior government officials to reaffirm the strong US-ROK alliance, Caliber.Az reports citing the US Department of State.
Discussions will focus on how both nations can build upon their critical cooperation to address global challenges, grounded in shared values. Additionally, the Secretary will explore ways to strengthen efforts aimed at promoting a free, open, and prosperous Indo-Pacific, alongside trilateral initiatives with Japan.
In Japan, Blinken will meet with senior Japanese officials to review the substantial progress made in the US-Japan alliance in recent years. The Secretary will reaffirm the importance of this partnership in tackling a range of bilateral, regional, and global issues and continue advancing the momentum of US-Japan-ROK trilateral cooperation.
During his visit to France, Secretary Blinken will meet with senior French officials to discuss vital partnership efforts in addressing challenges in Europe, the Middle East, and beyond.
