US senator’s “Make Iran Great Again” message raises fears of escalation
US Senator Lindsey Graham has sparked controversy after appearing in a cap bearing the slogan “Make Iran Great Again,” a gesture widely interpreted as hinting at the possibility of US military intervention aimed at a change of power in Tehran.
In an interview with Fox News, Graham openly voiced his expectations for Iran’s future, Caliber.Az reports.
“I pray and hope that 2026 will be the year when we make Iran great again,” the senator said.
His comments come amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran. Just days earlier, US President Donald Trump warned Iranian authorities of possible American intervention should they resort to the violent suppression of ongoing street protests in the country.
Adding to the broader geopolitical context, The Guardian recently reported that Iran and Denmark could emerge as potential next targets of US pressure following developments related to Venezuela.
