US senator urges Saudi Arabia, UAE to join fight against Iran
On March 10, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham said in a Fox News interview that Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates must uphold their commitments to support the United States in the event of an Iranian attack.
“I want to say this to Saudi Arabia today: I am ready to enter into a mutual defense agreement to ensure your protection and permanent participation in the pact I am promoting. I hope we can continue negotiations. If Iran attacks you, we will enter the war on your side,” Graham stated, Caliber.Az reports, citing political commentator Mario Navfal's post on X.
He added, “Our embassy was attacked in Riyadh. Aren’t you obliged to join the fight with us? You have yet to do so. So if you do not believe that an attack on the U.S. embassy in Riyadh will trigger mutual self-defence, maybe we shouldn’t enter into a treaty with you.”
