US senator warns of potential regime changes in Iran, Venezuela, Cuba

A Republican U.S. senator has warned that Iran, Venezuela, and Cuba could see changes in leadership in the near future.

According to The Hill, Senator Ted Cruz briefed President Donald Trump, asserting that the Iranian regime is on the brink of collapse, facing an unprecedented crisis and extreme fragility.

“We are at a moment … where in the next six months we could realistically see the regimes in Iran, Venezuela and Cuba all fall, and we could see them replaced with governments that want to be friendly with America,” Cruz said.

The senator added that such developments would represent the most significant geopolitical shift since the fall of the Berlin Wall.
