US State Department rejects Russia's accusations on Georgia as "completely false"
US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller dismissed Russia's recent accusations regarding US involvement in Georgia, labelling them as "complete lies" and "absurd."
Miller addressed a briefing in response to statements from Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service claiming the US plans for a power change in Georgia and a discrediting campaign against the ruling Georgian Dream party by the Biden administration, Caliber.Az reports.
"It’s completely false. I think it’s quite obvious that it’s completely false. It’s not the first time Russia has made allegations like that with respect to US involvement in Georgia and other countries around the world that have been completely false, and have been absurd," Miller stated.
He further highlighted the irony of Russia, which illegally occupies 20% of Georgia's territory, making such unfounded allegations against another country.
