US, Switzerland top the list of largest producers of components for Russia's weapons
Despite the policy of military neutrality that Switzerland adheres to, the country ranked first in Europe in the manufacture of components for Russian weapons, while the United States ranked first in the world among Western countries on this list.
The topic was widely discussed by experts during a meeting of the US Helsinki Commission in Congress, Voice of America reports.
According to Elena Tregub, executive director of the NACO anti-corruption committee, Switzerland ranks first in Europe in manufacturing parts for Russian weapons.
Next, according to Tregub, comes Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Austria, and France. The researchers also found equipment made in Japan.
At the same time, the first place in the world among Western states belongs to manufacturers from the United States, she noted.
"In Russian weapons, we found about 300 components made in the US by sixty different American companies. Unfortunately, this is the leading country in the Western world that supplies the Russians with important dual-use components," Tregub said.
