US to expand its military presence in Australia
US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin has said that the US plans to increase its military presence in Australia by deploying strategic bombers there on a rotational basis.
He made the remarks following the US-Australian negotiations in the "two plus two" format, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
In addition, the Pentagon chief stressed that the United States and Australia would reach agreements this year on the joint production of high-precision missiles GMLRS and PrSM.
Earlier, the Pentagon chief said that the United States was working on the possibility of creating a military presence in West Africa and expanding partnership with these countries.
The politician also noted that the US authorities were closely monitoring the situation at the airbase in Niger. This includes whether Russian specialists have access to United States military equipment in this African country.
