US top diplomat calls for open communication with Russia to avoid war
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized the necessity of direct communication between the United States and Russia to prevent potential war between the two largest nuclear powers.
In a congressional hearing, Rubio criticized the previous administration under President Joe Biden for its reluctance to engage in dialogue with Moscow, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
He argued that such a stance was irresponsible, especially considering the risk of miscalculations and military escalation.
Rubio underscored that while the US and Russia may not become allies or friendly nations unless circumstances change, it is crucial for both countries to maintain open channels of communication. The Secretary of State stressed that direct engagement would help avoid conflicts and prevent the risk of military confrontation.
