US Treasury imposes new sanctions on Iran
The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has expanded its sanctions against Iran.
The measures include a ban on entering into any new commercial transactions involving the property or interests in property of all sanctioned persons, as well as a prohibition on transactions or activities banned under the January 10, 2020, executive order, Imposing Sanctions with Respect to Additional Sectors of Iran.
The restrictions cover transactions involving Iran, the Iranian government, or goods and services of Iranian origin.
In addition, OFAC imposed sanctions on 10 individuals, 24 entities and 20 vessels linked to Iran's "shadow fleet" and the supply of materials used in the production of ballistic missiles and weapons.
