The United States and Türkiye have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance strategic civilian nuclear-technical cooperation, officials announced on September 25.
Türkiye’s Minister of Energy, Alparslan Bayraktar, said the agreement marks a new phase in the bilateral partnership, deepening collaboration in the field of nuclear energy. “Following the meeting attended by our leaders and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, we signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic civilian nuclear-technical cooperation. I hope that the work carried out under this agreement will bring mutual benefits to both countries,” Bayraktar said in a post on X.
The MoU was signed at the White House, following talks between Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and US President Donald Trump. The agreement aims to strengthen technical collaboration, advance nuclear energy projects, and foster closer ties between the two nations in the energy sector.
