US unveils $700 million aid package to Ukraine
The United States has announced a new financial aid package of over $700 million for Ukraine, aimed at rebuilding energy infrastructure, providing humanitarian relief, and demining efforts, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken revealed.
Speaking at a joint press conference in Kyiv alongside British and Ukrainian Foreign Ministers David Lammy and Andriy Sibiga, Blinken detailed the allocation of the funds, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Of the total, $325 million will go toward restoring Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, which has been heavily damaged by Russian strikes.
Additionally, $290 million is designated for humanitarian support, which includes ensuring access to clean water, food, shelter, and medical care for the population. Another $102 million will be used for demining operations in areas contaminated with explosive remnants of war, Blinken emphasized.
Earlier reports also mentioned that the US administration had provided Ukraine with a new military aid package worth $250 million, primarily focused on supplying ammunition.
British Foreign Secretary David Lammy added that the United Kingdom is contributing £3 billion (more than €3.5 billion) annually in support of Ukraine.
