US uses HIMARS, Tomahawk missiles in strikes on Iran

The United States is deploying drones, destroyers, HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems and Tomahawk missiles in its ongoing strikes against Iran, as the conflict continues to escalate.

Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said on March 2 that there are currently no American ground troops operating inside Iran, but declined to rule out the possibility of future deployments, CNN reports.

“No,” Hegseth said when asked if there were American boots on the ground. “But we’re not going to go into the exercise of what we will or will not do.”

The U.S. military also announced that four American service members have died during the conflict, killed in an Iranian drone attack in Kuwait.
