US, Uzbekistan discuss AI cooperation, sign memorandum
Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, has met with US Assistant Secretary of Commerce David Vogel to discuss expanding cooperation in artificial intelligence and broader economic ties.
During talks in Tashkent, the two sides focused on prospects for trade and investment opportunities, Caliber.Az reports, citing Uzbek media.
The parties placed particular emphasis on joint projects in energy, mining, transport, agriculture, the financial sector, and digital technologies.
They also discussed expanding cooperation in innovation and telecommunications.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade and the US Commercial Service.
The agreement provides for support for regional business delegations, the development of interregional cooperation, and the promotion of new investment projects.
The United States remains one of Uzbekistan’s key partners, with bilateral trade exceeding $1 billion in 2025.
