US VP mocks pro-Armenian Pelosi over insider trading ban

U.S. Vice President JD Vance sharply criticised former pro-Armenian House Speaker Nancy Pelosi over her reaction to President Donald Trump’s proposed ban on congressional insider trading, escalating partisan tensions following the president’s State of the Union address.

Speaking at a press conference in Wisconsin, Vance referenced Trump’s pledge during the State of the Union (SOTU) to prohibit lawmakers from profiting from insider trading, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.

He said, “We're going to stop congressmen and congresswomen from getting rich off of insider trading.”

“A lot of people stood up and cheered, most of the Democrats didn't - You know who was not standing up and cheering? Nancy Pelosi.”

“I have never seen a person more angry in my life than Nancy Pelosi when the President of the United States is calling out insider trading.”

Trump has frequently criticised Pelosi in recent years, including throughout his 2024 campaign speeches and rallies, where he described her as a “crooked person,” “evil” and “sick.”

Last November, Trump intensified his attacks in a post on Truth Social, writing: “She illegally made a fortune in the Stock Market, ripped off the American Public, and was a disaster for America. I’m glad to see the stench of Nancy Pelosi go!!!”
