US weighs expanding production of B-21 Raider stealth bomber
The United States may expand production of its low-observable strategic bomber, the B-21 Raider, Defence Index reports on X, per Caliber.Az.
US Strategic Command said discussions are underway with the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) subcommittee on Strategic Forces about the possible opening of a second production line for the B-21 Raider.
The move would allow the US to strengthen its bomber fleet capabilities over the long term.
The B-21 Raider is in low-rate initial production (LRIP) at Northrop Grumman's facility in Palmdale, California.
In February 2026, the Department of the Air Force and Northrop Grumman signed an agreement to increase existing production capacity by 25%, funded by $4.5 billion already appropriated in the FY2025 reconciliation bill.
