Uzbek diplomatic missions in UAE assist stranded citizens after flight cancellations

Diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan in the United Arab Emirates have provided emergency assistance and accommodation to dozens of Uzbek citizens who were unable to leave the country due to cancelled flights, officials said.

According to a statement from the Uzbek embassy, many of the affected citizens had found themselves in difficult circumstances after losing temporary housing, Caliber.Az reports per Uzbek media.

In Dubai, 93 Uzbek nationals have been accommodated at the Hyatt Place Dubai. Among them are 61 individuals who had previously been evicted from the same hotel and left without temporary shelter, as well as 27 citizens who were evicted from the Floria Hotel. An additional five Uzbek nationals who were found without shelter on the streets of the city have also been provided with accommodation.

Authorities also arranged lodging for 39 Uzbek citizens at the Hampton by Hilton Dubai.

In the UAE capital, four Uzbek nationals facing difficult social conditions have been placed at the AG Hotel Abu Dhabi, where their health and safety are reportedly under special supervision.

The Uzbek diplomatic missions in the UAE, working together with relevant authorities, said they are providing practical and organisational assistance, maintaining constant monitoring of the situation, and responding promptly to requests from citizens.

The embassy added that efforts to protect the rights and legitimate interests of Uzbek nationals, as well as to support those facing hardship abroad, would continue.
