Uzbek farmer detained for inflating land size in sale

Uzbekistan State Security Service has detained a farm owner in Fergana Region after allegedly attempting to fraudulently sell 3.7 hectares of land by presenting it as a 7-hectare plot.
The suspect demanded $20,000 and 100 million Uzbek sums ($8249.25) from a prospective buyer for the deal, Caliber.Az reports, citing Uzbek media.
The farmer was apprehended while receiving part of the requested payment.
A criminal case has been opened against him, the Security Service said.
