Uzbek president kicks off state visit to Kyrgyzstan PHOTO

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Kyrgyzstan on July 30 for a state visit at the invitation of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov.

Mirziyoyev was welcomed by Japarov at Issyk-Kul International Airport. A ceremonial reception featuring elements of Kyrgyz national culture was held in honour of the Uzbek leader, Caliber.Az reports.

During the visit, the two presidents will hold talks in a one-on-one format as well as in an expanded format. A number of bilateral documents are expected to be signed following the meeting.

In addition, Shavkat Mirziyoyev will take part in an informal consultative meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, which will be held in Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul Region.
