Uzbek president set for two-day visit to Pakistan
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a state visit to Pakistan on February 5–6.
During the visit, a substantial package of agreements in priority sectors is expected to be signed, Caliber.Az reports, citing the official website of the Uzbek president.
In Islamabad, Mirziyoyev will hold talks with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Chief of Defence Forces — Army Commander Field Marshal Asim Munir, as well as attend the inaugural session of the Strategic Cooperation Council.
The high-level meetings will focus on further deepening the Uzbek-Pakistani strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation. Key discussions will cover strengthening political dialogue, intergovernmental and interparliamentary relations, business ties, and regional cooperation.
Special attention will be given to increasing trade turnover, advancing industrial, transport, and infrastructure cooperation projects, promoting tourism, and continuing cultural and humanitarian collaboration.
