Uzbekistan appoints new Business Ombudsman
Uzbekistan has appointed Abdumannop Abduraxmatovich Buriyev as the country’s new business ombudsman, the presidential office’s official representative for protecting the rights and legal interests of entrepreneurs, according to Uzbek media.
Born in 1986 in Bekabad, Tashkent region, Buriev has held senior positions within the justice system.
Earlier this year, he was appointed head of the Department for Organisational Control and Strategic Planning at the Ministry of Justice’s central office.
He previously led the ministry’s Organisational Control and Analysis Department and also served as head of the Justice Department in the Fergana region.
The business ombudsman role is tasked with safeguarding entrepreneurs’ rights and ensuring regulatory compliance in Uzbekistan’s growing private sector.
