Uzbekistan, BlackRock explore expanded strategic investment partnership PHOTO
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Adebayo Ogunlesi, a member of the Boards of Directors and Senior Managing Director of BlackRock, to discuss broadening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the global asset management firm.
According to the presidential press service, the talks focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, with particular emphasis on the fuel and energy sector. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress of BlackRock's ongoing projects in Uzbekistan and reviewed opportunities to deepen collaboration.
During the meeting, Mirziyoyev outlined key priorities for future cooperation, including expanding BlackRock's participation in Uzbekistan's privatization program, enhancing the country's investment attractiveness, supporting the development of the domestic financial market, advancing petrochemical projects, and promoting joint investments in artificial intelligence technologies.
BlackRock is one of the world's leading investment management companies, providing asset management and financial services to clients worldwide. As of 2026, the firm manages approximately $14 trillion in assets under management.
