Uzbekistan, Chinese mining group sign strategic minerals cooperation deal
The Uzbek Non-Ferrous Metals Plant has signed a memorandum of cooperation with China's Shaanxi Non-ferrous Metals Holding Group aimed at expanding collaboration in the extraction and processing of strategic mineral resources.
Under the agreement, the two sides will cooperate in geological exploration, mining operations, and the deep processing of critical minerals. The memorandum also envisions technology transfer, joint scientific research, workforce training, and the development of investment projects in the sector, Caliber.Az reports per Uzbek media.
The partnership is expected to support Uzbekistan's efforts to strengthen its critical minerals industry, a sector of growing global importance due to increasing demand for materials used in clean energy technologies, electronics, and advanced manufacturing.
