Uzbekistan National Guard gets new commander as president signs decree PHOTO
Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree appointing Bahodir Tashmatov as Commander of the National Guard.
In this regard, Tashmatov has been relieved of his post as Deputy Secretary of the Security Council under the President, Caliber.Az reports, citing Uzbek media.
Tashmatov was born in 1964. He graduated from the Tashkent Higher Combined Arms Command School, the Armed Forces Academy of Uzbekistan, and advanced academic courses at the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.

From 2008 to 2011, he served as Deputy Minister and First Deputy Minister of Defence. Between 2011 and 2013, he was Secretary of the National Security Council. From 2013 to 2017, he held the position of First Deputy Minister of Defence. In August 2017, he was appointed Commander of the National Guard.
