Uzbekistan receives first C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft

Embraer has delivered the first C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft to the Uzbekistan Air Force, marking the country’s entry into operation of the aircraft.

The delivery ceremony was held at Embraer’s facility in Gavião-Peixoto, Brazil, and was attended by Major General Ahmad Burkhonov, Commander of the Uzbek Air Force, and Olimkhon Rustamov, Director of the state agency O‘ztextreyd, Uzbek media reports. 

Uzbekistan has become the first country in Central Asia to operate the C-390 Millennium.

The contract for the aircraft was signed in late 2024 and also includes specialist training, technical support and the supply of spare parts.

According to Embraer, the delivery forms part of Uzbekistan’s Air Force modernisation programme and efforts to strengthen its air mobility capabilities.

The C-390 Millennium can carry up to 26 metric tons of payload and reach speeds of up to 470 knots. The aircraft is designed for transporting cargo and personnel, airdropping equipment and personnel, medical evacuations, search and rescue operations, firefighting and humanitarian missions.
