Uzbekistan’s president eyes expanding economic ties with China, UK PHOTO
Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has held separate meetings with delegations from China and the United Kingdom as part of efforts to expand international economic cooperation, according to the presidential press service.
During talks with a delegation of leading Chinese companies and financial institutions, led by Wang Hongzhi, discussions focused on joint projects in the energy and geology sectors, as well as expanding cooperation in banking and finance, Caliber.Az reports.
In a separate meeting, Mirziyoyev received Lord Jason Stockwood, the UK’s Minister of State for Investment, along with an accompanying delegation. The talks covered prospects for strengthening trade, economic, investment, and financial cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom.
According to the press service, particular attention was given to expanding business ties and attracting further investment, as Tashkent continues to pursue a broader strategy of international economic engagement and diversification of partnerships.
