Uzbekistan taps new high-pressure gas source at Muynak field

No. 11 well at the Muynak gas-condensate field in Karakalpakstan, Uzbekistan, has produced a strong flow of high-pressure natural gas, reaching a depth of 4,700 meters.
According to the Uzbek state company Uzbekneftegaz, during tests conducted on January 23, 2026, industrial high-pressure gas inflows were recorded from productive layers at depths of 4,542–4,549 meters and 4,551–4,558 meters, Caliber.Az reports, per Uzbek media.
The site is currently being equipped with surface facilities, after which gas will begin delivery to consumers.
Previously, industrial gas inflow was achieved at the exploration Shagirlik – Lower Jurassic No. 2 well, located near the Muynak field.
