Uzbekistan to establish combat command within air force
Uzbekistan will create a Combat Command within its Air Force equipped with a modern digital command-and-control system, Defence Minister Shukhrat Khalmukhamedov has stated.
In an interview with News Hub, he said the move is envisioned under a decree by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Caliber.Az reports.
The minister said the new command will be established on the basis of the existing structure of the country’s Air Force.
“Simultaneously, specific measures are being defined to enhance the combat readiness and capabilities of the Air Force through the creation of new units equipped with high-precision weapons, aircraft, and unmanned aerial vehicles,” Khalmukhamedov noted.
He added that the implementation of the decree will significantly strengthen the combat capabilities of military aviation and air defence units, as well as improve protection of strategically important facilities against aerial threats.
