Uzbekistan to invest over $100 billion in US economy
Uzbekistan plans to channel more than $100 billion into the US economy over the next ten years, former US President Donald Trump announced on his social media platform, Truth Social.
“I am thrilled to announce an incredible Trade and Economic Deal between the United States and Uzbekistan. Over the next three years, Uzbekistan will be purchasing and investing almost $35 Billion Dollars and, in the next 10 years, over $100 Billion Dollars, in key American sectors, including Critical Minerals, Aviation, Automotive Parts, Infrastructure, Agriculture, Energy & Chemicals, Information Technology, and others. I want to thank Uzbekistan’s highly respected President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. We look forward to a long and productive relationship between our countries!” Trump wrote.
In the initial stage of the agreement, Uzbekistan is expected to invest about $35 billion over the next three years. These funds will be directed toward the development of strategic industries such as critical minerals, aviation, automotive manufacturing, infrastructure, agriculture, energy, the chemical industry, and the IT sector.
According to Uzbek media, Trump expressed gratitude to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for his commitment to strengthening economic ties, noting that both countries look forward to “long-term and productive relations.”
Earlier, the two leaders met at the White House, where they discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation and regional security. During the meeting, President Mirziyoyev invited Trump to visit Uzbekistan and proposed hosting the next C5+1 summit in Samarkand.
