Uzbekistan welcomes more than 7.7 million tourists since start of year
Uzbekistan received 7.749 million foreign tourists from January through July 2026, 1.4 million more than during the same period last year, with Kyrgyzstan remaining the leading source of visitors at 2.17 million trips, including 301,700 in July, according to the National Statistics Committee.
The committee said Kazakhstan ranked second with 1.855 million tourists, while the number of visitors from Kazakhstan in July alone — 301,800 — slightly exceeded the figure from neighbouring Kyrgyzstan, Caliber.Az reports.
Tajikistan ranked third with 1.728 million visitors, including 257,300 in July.
Russia accounted for more than 710,000 visits, including over 125,000 in July.
Afghanistan followed with 281,200 visits (42,200 in July), while China accounted for 269,700 (46,200 in July). For comparison, 278,900 Chinese tourists visited Uzbekistan throughout the whole of 2025.
Other major sources of visitors included Turkmenistan (192,800), Türkiye (111,900), India (32,400) and South Korea (26,500).
