Vast majority of Ukrainians oppose talks with Russia Poll data

24 October 2022 14:10

A total of 86% of Ukrainians believe that it is necessary to continue the armed struggle, even if Russia does not stop shelling Ukrainian cities, and not move on to negotiations.

This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS), on October 21-23, according to Ukrayinska Pravda.

According to the survey, 71% of respondents fully agree that Ukraine should provide armed resistance despite the massive shelling of Ukrainian cities and the destruction of infrastructure. Another 15% also rather agree with this.

On the other hand, only 10% of the respondents answered that it is necessary to move on to negotiations to end the shelling as soon as possible, even if they have to make concessions to the Russian Federation.

According to the results of the survey, this opinion is shared even in the east of Ukraine, in particular, residents of the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions, which are subjected to constant rocket and artillery shelling.

Among the Russian-speaking respondents, the vast majority (66%) also believe that armed resistance should be provided, even if the shelling continues. About 29% of Russian-speaking respondents were in favor of starting negotiations, even if they have to make concessions.
