Venezuela requests assistance from Mexico after devastating earthquakes
Venezuela has asked Mexico to provide specialised personnel for rescue operations and medical assistance following the devastating earthquakes, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said in a post on X.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has contacted the government of the sister country, and I have already instructed that the necessary assistance be prepared. At this time, they have requested support in the form of specialised rescue and medical personnel,” Sheinbaum wrote.
The head of state also expressed solidarity with the Venezuelan people and stressed that Mexico is always ready to provide support.

The earthquake struck Venezuela on the night of June 25, when two sets of strong tremors measuring 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude were recorded roughly 40 seconds apart. Their epicentres were located about 10 kilometres apart in Venezuela’s Yaracuy state.
